The Thornwood eatery is hosting a speed-eating contest to determine who is the hungriest around. And yes, there will be prizes.

Think you have what it takes to chomp your way through 24 wings faster than the gorger at the next table? Head to the speed-eating contest at License 2 Grill in Thornwood for your chance to win prizes, including a sports party catering package, gift certificates, and hot sauce. (You might be craving that hot sauce afterward—no super-hot wings for you, contestants!) Could this be one of the county’s first—ever—eating contests?
If that’s not your cup of tea or you’re just cheering (or jeering) from the sidelines, check out the other food at this new counter-service eatery serving American classics, most under $10. Think burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, Buffalo chicken wrap, and the mysterious Mom’s Special (“A Good Plate of L-O-V-E Is What You Will Get”—per the menu).
Thursday, August 21, 6 pm; $10 in advance, $20 at the door; age 18 and up. For details and to register firstname.lastname@example.org.
