Fashion Weekend at The Westchester

Last night my friend Sherry (you can catch her gorgeous wedding pic in the fall/winter issue of Westchester Weddings) and I went to The Westchester for the launch party for Simon Fashion Now , a weekend-long event to showcase fall fashion and accessories. (Don’t worry if you stayed home last night, there’s plenty going on both Friday and Saturday.)

The event kicked off with a cocktail party and a fashion show featuring clothes from Barney’s Coop, shoes from Stuart Weitzman , and accessories from Steven Corn Furs and Tourneau. We caught all of the styles—including the eyes of a few hot models—from our third seat row. Here’s a look (to find out about the activities lined up for the weekend, scroll down).

Here’s the runway with host and celebrity stylist Robert Verdi. You might recognize him from Full Frontal Fashion or She’s Got the Look—he’ll be on hand for the rest of the weekend hosting other fashion shows and signing autographs and such.

So pretty and fresh. I love the cropped pants and the bright colors for fall.

Love the suit – and um, the model isn’t too bad either.

I am seriously craving this hat. Also, the earrings. And the sweater. Ok, all of it.

This model had a sort of strange look on his face the whole time he was walking down the runway. But, he managed to look in our direction just in time for me to snap a pic.

Here are the models at the end of the show as they all make their way down the catwalk.

Some of the events (like this one) are ticketed, so if you can’t score a seat, just lean over the railing like these people. Most of the fashion shows will be taking place on the bottom floor near the Nordstrom café and Tiffany.

A few happy spectators.

As for the rest of the weekend, tonight they’ll be a children’s fashion show featuring styles provided by Nordstrom, with proceeds benefiting the Westchester Children’s Museum. (you can go to www.discoverwcm.org to buy tix). Then on Saturday, they’ll be events throughout the day, including a Nordstrom Cosmetic Trends Show starting at 9am (you can get tix for that event at any Nordstrom store), then, starting at 2, another fashion show MC-ed by Robert Verdi with wardrobe provided by stores ranging from Anthropologie to Cache. Various how-to’s, displays and demonstrations will also be taking place at different stores throughout the mall, throughout the day. Added bonus: every hour, starting at 10am, you can register to win a whole host of prizes, including a Dooney and Bourke leather travel bag, a $500 gift certificate to Kenneth Cole and a Brooks Brothers men’s shirt and tie.
