Run, Magazine Editor, Run

This Saturday, I'm running my first 5K. The race, the Revlon Run/Walk for Women, goes from Times Square to the East Meadow in Central Park, with all proceeds going to fund and raise awareness about women’s cancers. I ran the entire 3.1 miles yesterday and finished in about 42 minutes. (Perhaps not the best time, but for someone who, at the beginning of this year, could barely run a mile, I have to say, I’m fairly impressed with myself). The forecast for Saturday looks to...

Michael Kors Loves Your Mom

Mother's Day is only a few short weeks away—May 11, to be exact. In honor of the event, and my own lovely mother, I’m planning on whipping together a great guide gift, complete with pictures and captions and prices and stores and…well, you get the idea.

To be honest, though, by the time I get my act together and post that, I’ll have missed out on telling you about a great gift opportunity from Michael Kors. If you haven’t checked out his less-than-two-year-old store in The Westchester you most definitely should. It has loads of accessories—including lots of amazing handbags. I love

Weekend Warrior

I'm headed down to Philadelphia this weekend for my best friend's wedding. I leave tomorrow and I haven't started packing at all. Can you guess I have a problem with over-packing? Now, while it’s ok to stuff a huge suitcase full of things when you’re heading to Europe or away for months at a time, it’s a much different story when you’re only gone for four days. To help, I’ve made a list of exactly what I need to wear at each event—none of this four different shirt options for each outfit and 10 different pairs of shoes in case the weather drastically changes on me. My sanity—and shoulders—can’t take it anymore.

Also, when it comes to weekend getaways, what type of luggage is the best to...

Spring Cleaning Your Closet

I am, what some would consider, a pack rat. I still have book reports from the third grade, textbooks from college and every single letter anyone has ever written me packed away in boxes in my parent’s garage. I’m the person who worries about throwing something away because, well, what if the occasion calls for me to wear it again? (Although, just for the record, not like this.)

But, now that I’ve started shopping for spring clothes and can’t close my drawers or closet because of the ridiculous amount of things bulging out of them, I think I’m in need of a little wardrobe overhaul.

Spotlight On: Intimissimi

Growing up, I spent most of my summers in Southern Italy. In the same way other Westchester parents sent their kids to sleep-away camp, mine (who were both born in Italy) helped me pack my bags and waved goodbye as I boarded a flight with my grandparents bound for summer on the Ionian coast.

As time passed, these small towns became a second home, and as I’m sure you can imagine, so did the shops. It’s gotten to the point where as soon as I land, I set aside a day to shop the summer sales with my cousin.

But, let’s make this clear: I’m not talking the typical Italian outposts of Gucci, Prada, etc., etc. (Although there is an...
