Westchester-based Crater Lake Company and the Richard Scott Salon & Day Spa in Mount Kisco have joined forces to create a decadent new spa experience. The Pumpkin Peel Body Glow treatment features three of Crater Lake Company's award-winning and best-selling pumpkin-based products. Step One: Aesthetician Carmela Carfagno sloughs off dead, dry skin with Crater Lake’s Warm Pumpkin Bread Body Scrub. Step Two: Carfagno applies the Pumpkin & Oats Masque, a combination of clays and Ayurvedic herbs along with pumpkin powder, clove oil, oats, and marshmallow root, and wraps you in a Mylar cocoon for five minutes. While you’re ‘cooking,’ she offers a mini-facial or scalp massage. Step Three: She massages in Warm Pumpkin Bread Flutter Butter. Step Four: Settle back in the relaxation room with a steaming cup of tea and a pumpkin muffin, and marvel at how soft and smooth your skin feels. Heaven.
$130 for 90-minute treatment at Richard Scott Salon & Day Spa (15-17 South Moger Ave, Mount Kisco, 914-242-1700, richardscottsalon.com) starting Monday, October 17th.

Pity the plight of the beauty blogger: Each week, the newest products appear on her desk, all promising younger-looking skin, tighter pores, plumper lips, lusher lashes, frizz-free hair—in short, a healthier, more glamorous life. Dutifully, Westchester Magazine Associate Editor Katie O’Donnell tests (or investigates) each item or service featured in WM’s Beauty Buzz blog. Life is beautiful indeed.
