Pretty Feet

Usually, I don’t send readers over the border for beauty treatments, but freelance writer Cat Zambito raved so much about the pedicures at Empy’s Day Spa in Greenwich, Connecticut (143 W Putnam Ave, 203-661-6625), that I had to make an exception. Her report:

“The salon is painted a beautiful pale aqua and has heavenly opera music playing in the background. The upper level is for manicures and hair; pedicures, facials, and waxes are done in the more intimate lower level. You head down leopard print stairs and enter a room filled with cushy chocolate brown armchairs, elegant brass and glass chandeliers, and a gorgeous floral...

Lashing Out: GrandeLash-MD

But when my favorite aesthetician, Julie Pipolo, started raving about it, I listened. “I’ve been telling my clients to go with Latisse,” she says. “But I think GrandeLash-MD works better—it’s natural, safer for light eyes, and doesn’t cause irritation—and is half the price. Magic Wand: Guerlain’s Noir G Mascara

How cool is this? Guerlain’s brand-new Noir G mascara comes in this nifty little case: pull on it and a hidden mirror clicks open, then twist and the brush magically appears. The wand applicator is refillable, so it's easy to pop in a new one as soon as you need it.

Available (starting in January) at Neiman Marcus for $49; refills are $26.

A Heady Experience

I’m a little jaded when it comes to spa treatments—it’s all in a day’s work, after all. So I get really jazzed when I discover something new. I’ve long been a fan of Moroccan Oil to tame frizzies and add sheen to my hair, and now Oasis Day Spa in Dobbs Ferry (link here) has added another reason to love it: a decadent scalp “facial” using Moroccan oil that includes a scalp massage. Heavenly—and your hair ends up super soft and shiny. Call for price and appointment.
