We Actually Don’t Hate This Kardashian Line
Kardashian Kids is in stores now, and we might just call it…sensible?
It was inevitable, really. With all the attention surrounding Kim’s pregnancy with tabloid-royal-in-training North West (including a whale of an outfit fail), not to mention Kourtney’s most recent bundle of joy, Penelope, the sisters Kardashian were bound to extend their apparel-designing, uh, talents (ability to hire professionals?) to baby-wear.
Retailing at Babies “R” Us stores and online as of March 15, the very first Kardashian Kids collection, for girls up to 24 months old, features surprisingly sweet—dare I say, conservative?—patterns like butterflies and stars, plus, naturally, a (restrained, I swear) bit of leopard print and leatherette. Cute-but-practical pieces range from dresses (everyday and special occasion), jackets, bloomers, and two-piece sets to newborn onesies, snuggly caps, and soft printed blankets; priced extremely reasonably at $15 to $30 per.
Other details to coo over: delicate lace, pearl-embossed buttons, georgette appliqués, and playful tulle ruffles, mostly in serene neutrals and pastels with fashionable gold touches, like on a trendy pair of soft gold polka-dot leggings. “Since becoming a mom, I’ve been so inspired to create…perfect prints, heavenly fabrics for a baby’s skin and to bring fashion to the baby world that is affordable,” Kourtney’s said of the debut.
