Need to know how to get the most out of LinkedIn? The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) of Westchester is hosting a workshop that should help.
"How to Make the Right Connections on LinkedIn" takes place on February 24, from 6-8 pm at the Greenburgh Public Library in Elmsford. This free workshop will explain what your LinkedIn profile really needs to make an impact, how to create a strategy to meet the right people and build a quality network, how to leverage LinkedIn groups to grow your reach and extend your network, the proper networking etiquette for LinkedIn, and tools and tips for extending LinkedIn.
Find Your Financing
Financing is the key to small business success. To help find that crucial financing, SCORE of Westchester is hosting an informative workshop, "Where to Find Financing for Your Business,” on February 25 from 1:30-3:30 pm at the White Plains Library in White Plains. This free workshop will show you where to secure financing for your business.

PWW Hosts Women’s History Month Event
In celebration of women’s history month, Professional Women of Westchester (PWW) is hosting a special event featuring award-winning documentarian and women’s movement historian Nancy Armstrong. Armstrong, a producer and founding member of the team that created the award-winning website and PBS documentary series MAKERS - Women Who Make America, will talk about her journey and the monumental contributions of women from our past and present, as well as where women will take it from here. The event takes place on March 2 from 6-8 pm at the White Plains Crowne Plaza, and proceeds from a special auction fundraiser will benefit the 2015 White Plains YMCA/Community YMCA/Camp Combe YMCA Annual Campaign, which provides scholarships for daycare/aftercare/camp for children of families in need throughout Westchester.
Fordham Offers Healthcare Workshops
Starting next month, the Fordham University School of Professional and Continuing Studies will offer a series of workshops for healthcare professionals. The series, “Intensive Experience in Healthcare Innovation,” is designed to teach skill sets and other information useful to healthcare middle-managers and those transitioning into the field. Fordham’s Westchester campus in West Harrison will host 12-hour-long intensive courses on different topics each weekend. Participants may enroll in one or more workshops and those who complete all six will receive a certificate of completion. Each workshop costs $500. The workshops offered include:
March 21-22: Leadership and Critical Thinking in Healthcare
April 11-12: Healthcare Information Systems and Data Security
April 25-26: Healthcare Policy and Regulatory Issues
May 9-10: Data Analytics
May 30-31: Navigating the Healthcare System – Who Are the New Caregivers?
June 13-14: Healthcare Marketing, Social Media and Ethical Advertising

Women’s Leadership Council Luncheon
United Way of Westchester and Putnam will host its second annual Women’s Leadership Council luncheon on March 11 from 12 noon-2 pm at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor. Area women are invited to attend and learn about the challenges women are experiencing in our communities and network with other women of influence. Stephanie Ruhle, anchor and managing editor for Bloomberg Television and co-host of Market Makers will be the event’s special keynote speaker. Dee DelBello, CEO and owner of Westfair Communications, Inc., and Mary Murray, manager, corporate citizenship and corporate affairs at IBM, will be honored as the Women’s Leadership Council’s “Women of Distinction.” The event will be emceed by Lisa Salvadorini, News 12 Westchester anchor and managing editor.

Learn tips and strategies for creating a growth plan for your business at a free workshop sponsored by SCORE of Westchester on February 25. The workshop, "How to Create an Actionable Roadmap for Growth," takes place from 1-3 pm at the SCORE headquarters in White Plains. The workshop will answer the following questions: Why do you need a roadmap? How do you define the top 3-5 most important activities to focus on? How do you turn these activities into action? How do you engage your team to focus on these actions? How do you identify the best metrics to track and ensure you are making progress?
