Iona College’s New Online MBA Program Is Conveniently Built Around Your Schedule
The school hopes bringing their traditional business program online will open a world of career opportunities to busy professionals.
The high demands on the modern workforce in today’s global economy have made an MBA a key tool for job success. But it can be difficult to go back to school for a Master’s degree while also juggling a career — which has made online MBA programs increasingly popular.
Iona College, a local leader in higher education, recently announced its foray into the online Master’s pool. Beginning November 2019, the new program at Iona’s LaPenta School of Business will offer exactly what its traditional MBA program does, expect that every class will be available online.
The degree can be completed in a little less than two years and is designed around convenience. Aimed to work around both professional and personal lives, students can continue to progress in their professions while simultaneously building their degrees, right from home.
The new online program, similar to the in-person track, offers personal attention as classes are small, as well as access to a network of 45,000 alumni, in-person networking events, speakers, and career services on campus. Classes will be led by the same professors who teach at the LaPenta School of Business’s traditional MBA program.
Students can complete two courses in each 10-week term and can choose from a number of electives. The program offers rolling admission, with students able to start the program throughout the school year in June, August, November, or February.
“The program is as rigorous as our traditional MBA, yet allows students to attend class and complete course work on their own schedules,” says Darrell P. Wheeler, Ph.D., Iona College’s provost. It is designed to be “more affordable to meet the needs of working professionals who are trying to get ahead in their careers while juggling their busy lives.”
