Tangram International Exhibitions, a Pleasantville Production Firm, Constructs Spaces and Displays at Trade Shows and Conventions
Ever wondered who constructs those elaborate spaces and “wow” displays at trade shows and conventions? It’s companies like Tangram International Exhibitions, Inc., a 25-year-old production firm based in Pleasantville. It turns raw square footage into eye-popping presentations fusing the latest technology with the trendiest graphics and design. You might call these folks architects of consumer dreams—making playgrounds out of convention centers, retail stores, museums, and brand experience centers. With 55 employees, it’s the only business of its kind in Westchester. It also has offices in LA and Cannes, France.
Steel Swift, Tricia Swift, and Aidan Corish founded Tangram in 1986 after parting from the New York office of their London-based employer, an exhibition company similar to Tangram. Today, the company designs, produces, and installs 150 to 200 exhibits a year, grossing $10 million to $12 million in annual revenue. Clients include Nike, Disney, Converse, 20th Century Fox, and HBO. Companies use Tangram in hopes of translating their respective brands into multi-sensory experiences.
“We filter all of the information from the client and come up with a concept that encompasses what the experience is, what the process is, and how effectively the message reaches consumers.” The final product, he says, “is the perfect blend of architecture and graphic design.”
