While it’s true that all leaders are bosses to varying extents, regrettably, not all bosses are leaders—it’s easy to spot the difference. After asking around Westchester’s business community—knocking on doors, making some (okay, lots) of calls, and firing off myriad emails—we discovered several exceptional individuals who get results for their companies by motivating their subordinates, eliciting the best ideas, encouraging top performance, fostering a creative atmosphere, nurturing individual growth, and, perhaps most important, setting an example by raising the bar just as high (if not higher) for themselves.
