Laura Madonna Giardullo, 28

Owner, Bare Skin and Laser

Laura Madonna Giardullo was only 22 years old when, after studying at the New York School of Esthetics, she opened Bare Skin and Laser in Pleasantville six years ago. Armed with a small loan from her parents and sister, Giardullo, now 28, drew inspiration from her father, who owned real estate and insurance businesses and taught her a key lesson about entrepreneurial success: “Hard work and ambition are essential.”

Giardullo soon found customers flocking for services such as facials, laser hair removal, and microdermabrasion. “What I love most about what we do at Bare is that we help people regain their confidence,” she says.

Giardullo has kept clients coming back with new offerings, such as her own exclusive skincare line, Bare Botanicals. “It allows us to make the most out of our treatments and be able to easily recommend the products we feel are most suitable for our clients’ specific needs,” says Giardullo. Recently, she introduced another product, the TRIOXY Facial, a three-step oxygen-infusion facial treatment. With business humming, Giardullo has grown it to four employees and relies on a physician and physician assistant, who administer injectables such as Botox and dermal fillers.

Keeping the family-biz trend going, Giardullo is also working with sister Allysa Madonna, 23, on a venture called Josie Rose Designs, which produces custom wedding invitations and offers Web design and event-decorating services. And, she’s part of a two-entrepreneur couple: Husband Daniel Giardullo owns Sal’s Pizza in Pleasantville. At press time, the couple were embarking on their next adventure, getting ready for the birth of their first child.
