Marc Miller, 27

Marc Miller considers himself lucky. He’s a lifelong basketball fan with a job in the NBA’s Development League, for the Westchester Knicks, the team that represents his home county. Miller’s office is in the County Center in White Plains, the same venue where he played on the North Salem High School basketball team that beat Briarcliff Manor in a sectional-championship upset in 2008. “It’s a building that sends chills down my spine every time I walk in,” says Miller, who was named a Business Council of Westchester Rising Star honoree in 2016. Miller started with the Westchester Knicks in his current role when the team was formed in 2014 and led them to set the D-League record for the most partnership revenue in a first season, despite having just six months to build the team’s business. His work has led to partnerships with dozens of companies, including Heineken USA, Red Oak Transportation, Westchester Medical Center, and the DoubleTree by Hilton. “We started with nothing, and now we have over 40 wonderful partners,” Miller says.
