Candied Nuts

Put in mason jars for a great holiday gift!

Ingredients:

1 cup walnuts
1 cup pecans
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 egg whites
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Sprinkle of salt
1 1/2 teaspoons water

 

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 300 degrees

In a large bowl mix cinnamon, sugar, and salt together.

In a small bowl whisk egg whites and water until frothy.

Toss pecans in the egg white mixture until evenly coated. Toss in sugar mixture until there is a coat on each nut. Spread pecans onto a baking sheet. Hint: Using a baking mat makes clean up easy.

Bake for 30-45 minutes. Turn every few minutes for even cooking.

Try different combinations for unique flavors: cocoa powder, chili powder, etc!
